Christopher Wells, "Securing Ajax Applications: Ensuring the Safety of the Dynamic Web"
O'Reilly Media, Inc. | ISBN 0596529317 | July 11, 2007 | 250 Pages | PDF | 2.67MB
| “ | Ajax applications should be open yet secure. Far too often security is added as an afterthought. Potential flaws need to be identified and addressed right away. This book explores Ajax and web application security with an eye for dangerous gaps and offers ways that you can plug them before they become a problem. By making security part of the process from the start, you will learn how to build secure Ajax applications and discover how to respond quickly when attacks occur.
Securing Ajax Applications succinctly explains that the same back-and-forth communications that make Ajax so responsive also gives invaders new opportunities to gather data, make creative new requests of your server, and interfere with the communications between you and your customers. This book presents basic security techniques and examines vulnerabilities with JavaScript, XML, JSON, Flash, and other technologies -- vital information that will ultimately save you time and money. | ” |

Signal Processing of Random Physiological Signals (SYNTHESIS LECTURES ON BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING)
Publisher: Morgan & Claypool Publishers | 2006-05-15 | ISBN 159829038X | Pages: 250 | PDF | 4 MB
Signal Processing of Random Physiological Signals presents the most widely used techniques in signal and system analysis. Specifically, the book is concerned with methods of characterizing signals and systems. Author Charles Lessard provides students and researchers an understanding of the time and frequency domain processes which may be used to evaluate random physiological signals such as brainwave, sleep, respiratory sounds, heart valve sounds, electromyograms, and electro-oculograms. Another aim of the book is to have the students evaluate actual mammalian data without spending most or all of their time writing software programs. Lessard recommends the DADiSP digital signal processing software, which allows students to view process steps in a real-time window with little training. Extensive programming ability is not necessary if an individual wishes to apply basic signal processing principles. However, individuals should have sufficient working knowledge of mathematics through calculus, some physiology, and be familiar with the elements of circuit theory (both loop and node equations for passive and active circuits).

Managing Service Level Quality: Across Wireless and Fixed Networks
Wiley | ISBN: 0470848480 | 180 pages | November 15, 2002 | PDF | 1 Mb
QoS (Quality of Service) and Network Management are old topics. However, the fusion of IP style multimedia and wireless networks (3G) means that network managers who might previously have dealt with one or the other, must now manage and provide service guarantees for the both. This is where Managing Service Level Quality across Wireless and Fixed Networks steps in... It begins by examining the mechanisms that already existed in fixed IP data networks prior to the introduction of probe and agent technology. A look at these later developments is then supplemented with a real-world scenario of how real time application performance monitoring can not only provide service level management but can also aid in root cause analysis. This same model is then applied to a wireless environment examining which elements are required to be able to deliver multimedia services across 2nd and 3rd generation mobile networks, detailing the components of data networking that will assist in guaranteeing service level performance and the constraints placed on those guarantees when passing services over an air interface to a wireless-enabled device.

Phase-Locked Loops for Wireless Communications: Digital, Analog and Optical Implementations
Springer; 2nd ed. edition | ISBN: 0792376021 | 440 pages | November 1, 2001 | PDF | 5 Mb
Phase-Locked Loops for Wireless Communications: Digitial, Analog and Optical Implementations, Second Edition presents a complete tutorial of phase-locked loops from analog implementations to digital and optical designs. The text establishes a thorough foundation of continuous-time analysis techniques and maintains a consistent notation as discrete-time and non-uniform sampling are presented. New to this edition is a complete treatment of charge pumps and the complementary sequential phase detector. Another important change is the increased use of MATLAB®, implemented to provide more familiar graphics and reader-derived phase-locked loop simulation. Frequency synthesizers and digital divider analysis/techniques have been added to this second edition. Perhaps most distinctive is the chapter on optical phase-locked loops that begins with sections discussing components such as lasers and photodetectors and finishing with homodyne and heterodyne loops. Starting with a historical overview, presenting analog, digital, and optical PLLs, discussing phase noise analysis, and including circuits/algorithms for data synchronization, this volume contains new techniques being used in this field. Highlights of the Second Edition:
