The second edition of this atlas offers a collection of photographs showing an extensive range of malformation syndromes. Almost one third longer than the previous edition, it includes those syndromes that have come to light since 1982 as well as redefinitions of syndromes based on recent research findings. The vast number of syndromes presented include many which are based on prolonged familial study, with developmental photographs of the same case. Problems associated with pregnancy, including toxicants, are covered, as well as genetic conditions. Beginning with the most frequently occurring signs, the author gradually moves on to more esoteric ones as the book progresses. Each syndrome is presented on a double-page spread with the text on the left and photographs on the right-hand page - a practical, easy-to-use arrangement which permits comprehensive and detailed consideration of each invidivual syndrome
