Written in a straightforward and accessible style, Getting Started in Forex Trading Strategies is a highly visual guide to foreign exchange trading that introduces you to the Codex Method—a proven process that allows you to tailor a trading strategy to your own personal preferences.
Divided into four comprehensive parts, this reliable resource opens with a brief overview of traditional FOREX strategies. From here, author Michael Duane Archer outlines his own personal codex—as he guides you through the process of developing yours—and reveals how to use this approach to make, monitor, and exit a trade. Along the way, Archer reveals the best ways to implement your strategy and discusses the importance of consistently keeping trading records.
In his previous book, Getting Started in Currency Trading, Archer set a solid foundation for trading the currency market by illustrating how it operated. Now, with Getting Started in Forex Trading Strategies, Archer goes a step further by showing you how to cultivate a personal trading strategy that will allow you to succeed within this dynamic environment.

Why Popcorn Costs So Much at the Movies, And Other Pricing Puzzles unravels the pricing mysteries we encounter every day.
Have you ever wondered why all movies, whether blockbusters or duds, have the same ticket prices? Why sometimes there are free lunches? Why so many prices end with "9"? Why ink cartridges can cost as much as printers? Why merchants offer sales, coupons, and rebates? Why long lines are good for shoppers? Why men earn more than women, around the globe – and why they always will?
Richard McKenzie goes on to show how the 9/11 terrorists still kill Americans every day, because their attack distorted the perceived risks and relative prices of air vs. automobile travel, and jacked up both security costs and flight delays. Professor McKenzie also explores the unintended consequences of well-meaning efforts to spur the use of environmentally friendly fuels: starvation among millions of people around the world, and the destruction of rainforests in Malaysia and Indonesia.
How can these things be? If you think you know the answers, think again. Why Popcorn Costs So Much at the Movies, And Other Pricing Puzzles shows you that the real reasons are sophisticated and surprising – and in Professor McKenzie’s hands, both informative and entertaining.

Based on a people-tested and time-tested system, this book gives you detailed strategies to show you how to master your money by budgeting effectively, reducing debt, and investing wisely. It examines the reasons why we struggle with spending, borrowing, and saving, and how to get these habits under control. The book is based on 10 step-by-step principles that build upon each other, culminating in an entire system that gets to the heart of: why we spend, and how to track and control spending; the factors that keep people perpetually in debt, and how you can eliminate debt completely (including mortgage) in nine years or less; why you may not be saving as much as you'd like, and how you can velocitize your money for future wealth. Also included is a section on tax reduction which dispels the myths surrounding taxation that keep people paying more than the law actually requires.

While most investment guides try to simplify the subject of personal finance for laypeople, this tendentious primer makes it bafflingly complex. Maurer, ex-chairman of the high-end financial management firm U. S. Trust, writes explicitly for the wealthiest one percent of investors. Two factors justify his decision to target such a minuscule audience. First, he assumes ordinary readers also want to know "what the affluent are like and how they manage their wealth"-that is, they may enjoy fantasizing about the financial hassles of having a multi-million dollar portfolio. Second, only the very rich can make use of the exotic investment vehicles-including zero-premium equity collars, family charitable foundations, and complicated estate-tax evasion plans-that Maurer showcases. These all fit into a "holistic wealth management" philosophy, which takes careful account of the labyrinthine complexities-risk and returns, taxes, insurance, retirement needs, estate planning, legal liability-that should inform each and every financial decision. Deploying many pages of graphs, tables and mind-numbing spreadsheets, Maurer discusses these issues in just enough bewildering detail to persuade readers that they shouldn't invest in a ham sandwich without the advice of a financial planner-better yet, a team of financial planners of the sort U. S. Trust specializes in assembling. Even professional financial planners, he asserts, need professional financial planners to plan their finances for them. Maurer hammers the point home with many dire cautionary tales about U. S. Trust financial planners who rescue seemingly savvy clients from financial or familial ruin. It all adds up to little more than a book-length brochure for the company's services.
