McGraw-Hill's National Electrical Safety Code Handbook

The purpose of this book is the NESC and is provided for the “practical safeguarding of persons during the installation, operation, or maintenance of electric supply and communication lines and associated equipment.” The Code covers electric supply lines and associated equipment and communications lines and equipment. The Code specifies what needs to be accomplished for safety. The Code does not specify how high the poles have to be or where the wires are attached on the pole to obtain the 18.5-ft clearance. Selecting the proper pole heights and attachment heights is a design function. The Code does require that the phase wires be not less than 18.5 ft high (they can certainly be higher).

Electric Wiring: Domestic, Twelfth Edition

This book acknowledged as the standard guide to the practical aspects of domestic electric wiring. It is now thoroughly rewritten and updated in this twelfth edition for electrician, students working towards NVQs or City & Guilds qualifications, professionals whose work demands a knowledge of electrical installations including electrical engineers, heating engineers, architects and maintenance staff. The contents cover current professional best practice and are fully in line with the 16th edition of the Regulations for Electrical Installations issued by the institution of Electrical Engineers.

Theory and problems of electric machines and electromechanics book aims to supplement the usual textbook and serve as a refresher in the course of electric machines. This book consist of brief review and 400 problem solving and answer. It begin with simple dc magnetic circuits to electronic motor controls of dc and ac. Each chapter was explained broadly and easy to understand in the part of the reader. It is also included the development of equivalent circuits of transformers, energy efficient induction motors, electric motors, hysteresis motors, and the section on power semi-conductors.

Electrical and Electronic Principles and Technology, 3rd Edition is all about the operation of d.c. and a.c. circuits, covering both steady and transient states, and applies these principles to filter networks, operational amplifiers, three-phase supplies, transformers, d.c. machines and three-phase induction motors. this book s are a complete update on semiconductor diodes and transistors, and additional material on batteries, fuel cells and alternative and renewable energies, relative and absolute voltages, self and mutual inductance, virtual test and measuring instruments. It has also a new feature and is that is a free Internet download (lecturers only) available of a sample of solutions (some 400) of the 530 further problems contained in the book. This third edition provides coverage of the following syllabuses: (i) ‘Electrical and Electronic Principles’ (Unit 5, BTEC National Certificate and National Diploma) (ii) ‘Further Electrical Principles’ (Unit 67, BTEC National Certificate and National Diploma) (iii) Parts of the following BTEC National units: Electrical Applications, Three Phase Systems, Principles and Applications of Electronic Devices and Circuits, Aircraft Electrical Machines, and Telecommunications Principles. (iv) Electrical part of ‘Applied Electrical and Mechanical Science for Technicians’ (BTEC First Certificate). (v) ‘Electrical and Electronic Principles’, Units of the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Engineering (2800). (vi) ‘Electrical and Electronic Principles’ (Unit ETA/ 009, EALAdvanced Diploma in Engineering and Technology). (vii) Any introductory/Access/Foundation course involving Electrical and Electronic Engineering Principles.contains 400 worked problems, together with 340 multi-choice questions (with answers at the back of the book). It is also included in this new edition are over 450 short answer questions, the answers for which can be determined from the preceding material in that particular chapter, and some 530 further questions, arranged in 145 Exercises, all with answers, in brackets, immediately following each question; the Exercises appear at regular intervals — every 3 or 4 pages — throughout the text. Over 500 line diagrams further enhance the understanding of the theory. All of the problems — multi-choice, short answer and further questions — mirror practical situations found in electrical and electronic ngineering.

This is a tutorial book on how to use EEG as amodern functional imaging method with the advantage of directly recording neuronal activity with millisecond temporal resolution, an approach called electrical neuroimaging. This book intends to give a comprehensive introduction to the basics of multichannel recording of EEG and event-related potential (ERP) data, and to spatio-temporal analysis of the potential fields. Electrical Neuroimaging book enables a researcher to measure valid data, select and apply appropriate analysis strategies and draw the correct conclusions when analyzing and interpreting multichannel EEG/ERP data.It comprises the basics of what we know about the generation of electric fields in the brain, which can be measured noninvasively at the scalp, and about the generation of oscillatory activity at different frequency ranges. The book will be of great utility to cognitive neuroscientists, but also clinical neurophysiologists, neurologists and psychiatrists, as we emphasize with many practical examples the usefulness of thesemethods for developmental and clinical applications.
