Red Hat Certified Engineer Study Guide:
If you want to learn how to administer a Red Hat Linux system, this is the book for you. In it, you'll find clear and comprehensive explanations of the concepts you need to understand and the procedures you need to be able to perform. If you plan to take the RHCE exam, you will find this book to be even more valuable, because it focuses on the topics identified by Red Hat, Inc., as central to the RHCE exam. It contains many practice questions and exercises that will help you to prepare for and assess your readiness to take the RHCE exam. The book includes both questions and exercises because the RHCE exam has two kinds of tests: written and performance-based exams. The questions prepare you for the written part of the RHCE exam, and the exercises prepare you for the performance-based part of the exam. Once you master the questions and exercises, you will be able to approach the RHCE exam with confidence. However, the RHCE exam and this book are not for everyone. The RHCE exam is mostly a hands-on exam that attempts to assess your system administration skills. This book will help you to learn and refine these skills, but unless you've had some experience with Unix or Linux, you probably won't make much sense of this book or the RHCE exam. To succeed, you don't need to be a Unix or Linux expert—although it certainly won't hurt if you are—but you should be at least a Unix or Linux power user who has some experience in system installation and administration. If you've installed Linux on several systems and spent some time figuring out some system administration commands such as mount and unmount, you can expect to understand the material in this book.

An Introduction to Cryptography:
Cryptography is the stuff of spy novels and action comics. Kids once saved up bubble-gum wrappers and sent away for Captain Midnight's Secret Decoder Ring. Almost everyone has seen a television show or movie involving a nondescript suit-clad gentleman with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. The word "espionage" conjures images of James Bond, car chases, and flying bullets. And here you are, sitting in your office, faced with the rather mundane task of sending a sales report to a coworker in such a way that no one else can read it. You just want to be sure that your colleague was the actual and only recipient of the email and you want him or her to know that you were unmistakably the sender. It's not national security at stake, but if your company's competitor got a hold of it, it could cost you. How can you accomplish this? You can use cryptography. You may find it lacks some of the drama of code phrases whispered in dark alleys, but the result is the same: information revealed only to those for whom it was intended.

Marketing Stripped Bare:
If we accept that every organization has customers or clients--a public to serve--then there has to be marketing. Without marketing your public won't be aware of your service or products and you won't have a market. Without a market you won’t have a business. For those of us who aren't privy to the intriguing and baffling world of marketing, Patrick Forsyth exposes its inner workings in this enlightening and entertaining guide. Marketing Stripped Bare is unlike other books that promise to explain the marketing process. You won’t find dry theoretical models here. Nor will you be bamboozled with trendy business-speak. And it will put any misconceptions firmly to rights. You'll realize that marketing isn't the sole preserve of the creative, lateral-thinking mavericks, nor of the number-crunching IT brigade. By stripping marketing down to its bare essentials you learn:
- how marketing works;
- what marketing people actually do;
- why marketing is essential for business success;
- what's hot in marketing;
- Whether you're considering a career in marketing or simply want to know what it's all about, Marketing Stripped Bare tells it like it is.

Designing Components with the C++ STL:
The book has two aims. As a technical reference, the reference document mentioned earlier is hardly suited to explain the concepts of the STL. Therefore, the first aim is to present how the STL can be used in a sensible way. Internal details of the STL are described only to the extent needed to understand how it works. However, this book is more than a simple introduction. With the aid of comprehensive examples, the STL is presented as a tool box for the construction of more powerful and sometimes even faster components. These components are more complex data structures and algorithms which can be efficiently implemented by means of the modules contained in the STL. The algorithms are evaluated with respect to their run time behavior relative to the amount of data to be processed (time complexity). However, not only the modules themselves and their combination are of interest, but also the programming techniques employed in the STL and in this book.

A Programmers Introduction to Visual Basic.NET:
This book is targeted at current VB developers. If you don't know VB, parts of the book might not make sense to you. The goal here is to cover what has changed. So, if something hasn't changed, I have to assume that you already know it. If you know VB, and want to learn VB.NET or at least see what it can do for you, this book is for you. If you are currently using Visual InterDev to create Web applications, this book is also for you, because Visual InterDev has been integrated throughout Visual Studio.NET. This means you can create Visual InterDev–like Web Applications using VB.NET (and C#). You get several advantages with this new approach, including the ability to write in full VB.NET instead of VBScript, and the advantages of .NET's Web application architecture (ASP.NET) over the current ASP model are significant. No matter what you will be doing with VB.NET, the place to start is with the .NET Framework. Without understanding the .NET Framework, you won't be able to write good VB.NET applications, regardless of whether they are Windows or Web applications. Therefore, prepare to get started by examining the .NET Framework.

AIX Reference for Sun Solaris Administrators:
In today's heterogeneous computer environments, especially in UNIX servers and workstations, it is essential that the system administrator have basic knowledge of different operating systems. This redbook is written for Sun Solaris administrators who wants to transfer their knowledge of Solaris UNIX skills to the AIX 5L operating system. This redbook will basically compare system administration tasks in Solaris 8 to AIX 5L Version 5.1. But it is not the intention of this redbook to decide which operating system is the better of the two. This redbook shows the reader similarities and differences between each operating system. This redbook will also introduce Solaris administrators to IBM pSeries hardware. It is assumed that the reader of this redbook already has Solaris 8 system administration skills, and are familiar with Sun hardware. In the first section on each chapter, we will briefly mention how the Solaris tasks are carried out. It is not the intention of this redbook to describe in detail how systems administrator tasks are performed in Sun Solaris. In the last section of each chapter, we will provide a quick reference that will be handy to use. This redbook will demonstrate some ways to complete each administrative task, but not all ways to do it, because there are many different ways to do the same task in Solaris and AIX 5L operating systems. For example, in the AIX 5L operating system, system administrators can do many of the same tasks using three different ways: Web-based System Manager, SMIT, or commands on the command line. This redbook is a valuable tool for system administrators and other technical support personnel who deal with AIX 5L and Solaris operating systems.

2500 Keywords to Get You Hired:
This guide offers a variety of tools for you. For the top professions we identified, you will find a list of at least 20 keywords, an example of their use in a sample resume, and their use in a sample interview question. Not every keyword is illustrated in every respective resume or sample interview. Inserting every keyword would have made them too wordy and in many cases unrealistic. These samples will give you some ideas, but your use really depends on your own experiences and objectives. Each profession showcases the work of both the authors and the members of the Professional Association of Resume Writers.
