Good Creepy Fun!

The third in the Goosebumps series, Monster Blood is a riot of creepiness and is sure not to disappoint! I think I see a pattern developing (though I suppose three books in is a bit too soon to make any final judgments)...this series seems to be more about a campy and creepy type of vibe than a truly horrific/scary one (though the first one, I felt was genuinely scary in places), I'm getting a bit of Tales from the Crypt Jr. feel as I am going through the series and I rather like that.

In this volume, we meet Evan (and his new friend Andy). Evan has come for a few weeks to say with his Great-Aunt while his parents are looking for a new home for them to buy...the main problem with this being that his Great Aunt is deaf, stubborn and a bit creepy. After being dropped off, Evan is sure he's going to be miserable for the whole time he's there and this is largely confirmed when he is immediately set upon by the local bullies (twins). He is temporarily saved by Andy who quickly becomes his friend and they set off together to browse the old toy store that is going out of business. As Andy looks for a present for her cousin and comes up empty handed, Evan discovers a can of "monster blood" and simply must have it. The owner sells it reluctantly and Evan and Andy scurry out of the shop with their new prize. After getting it home, they play with it for a while and as with all Goosebumps books...it's all down hill from there. Something strange is happening with the monster blood...it's growing, expanding and starting to take on a life of it's own! What will Evan do...how did this happen, read and find out...you won't be disappointed!

Say Cheese and die is a must read book. There is action and adventure in this book. Every page is a mystifying problem. Billy and Jessica were neighbors until something happened. Billy and Jessica found a camera in Billy's attic. They think the camera is normal until they start taking pictures.
They first find out this isn't a normal camera. When Billy and Jessica take a picture of Billy's dad's car something unusual happened. When they get the photograph the car turns out to be wrecked. They are obviously weary about this camera. This isn't your everyday camera.
If your asking were they live ill tell you. They both live in Phoenix, Arizona, in a small little neighborhood. It's a fairly decent place. All seems very well in this little neighborhood.
But the question is still is being investigated. People think they are just kids playing a game. Well this is no game to Billy and Jessica. They dare not to take it to a camera shop. They know well enough not to make it spread to the public.
The ending is not one of those happily ever after books. The question still lurks within the book. Overall if your one of those people who like suspense then this is the book for you.! Overall I hope you enjoy the book. Maybe you might chicken out on being a photographer but it's completely up to you to solve the mystery of Terrifying camera.

I love this one!!!!

This is another one of r.l. stines best goosebumps books. This book is about a brother and a sister (I can't remember their names) Who live in a house with their mom and dad. In the book the kids mother goes away and now there with their father. While the kids mother is gone they notice that there father isn't acting like he normally does. When the kids go into the basement to see whats going on they see a big surprise. To see what else happens you have to read this awesome book. This book also has a twisted ending to it. This book didn't really make me feel scared as I was reading it, but for the kids in the book it would be scary for them. Read this book, it is great!!!!

He's so vivid he jumps off the page). But Grisham's legions of fans are likely to enjoy The Summons even if it lacks the power of some of his classic earlier books, like The Firm, The Brethren, and The Testament. --Jane Adams

Chapter 1: System Boot, Startup, and Shutdown Issues
Chapter 1 discusses the different subsystems that comprise Linux startup. These include the bootloaders GRUB and LILO, the init process, and the rc startup and shutdown scripts. Chapter 2: System Hangs and Panics
This chapter explains interruptible and non-interruptible OS hangs, kernel panics, and IA64 hardware machine checks. A Linux hang takes one of two forms. An interruptible hang is when Linux seems frozen but does respond to some events, such as a ping request. Non-interruptible hangs do not respond to any actions. We show how to use the Magic SysReq keystroke to generate a stack trace to troubleshoot an interruptible hang. We explain how to force a panic when Linux is in a non-interruptible hang. An OS panic is a voluntary shutdown of the kernel in response to something unexpected. We discuss how to obtain a panic dump from Linux. The IA64 architecture dump mechanism is also explained.

In Chapter 3, we explain how to use some of the most popular Linux performance tools including top, sar, vmstat, iostat, and free. The examples show common syntaxes and options. Every system administrator should be familiar with these commands.

Chapter 4: Performance
Chapter 4 discusses different approaches to isolating a performance problem. As with the majority of performance issues, storage always seems to draw significant attention. This chapter provides a detailed walkthrough and examples of installing and configuring Fibre Channel cards. We discuss driver issues, how the device files work, and how to add LUNs.

Chapter 6: Disk Partitions and Filesystems
Master Boot Record (MBR) basics are explained, and examples are shown detailing how bootloader programs such as LILO and GRUB manipulate the MBR. We explain the partition table, and a lot of examples are given so that the reader will understand how the disk is carved up into extended and logical partitions. Many scenarios are provided explaining common disk and filesystem problems and their solutions. After reading this chapter, the reader will understand not only what MBA, LBA, extended partitions, and all the other buzzwords mean, but also how they look on the disk and how to fix problems related to them.

Chapter 7: Device Failure and Replacement
This chapter explains identifying problems with hardware devices and how to fix them. We begin with a discussion of supported devices. Whether a device is supported by the Linux distribution is a good thing to know before spending a lot of time trying to get it working. Next we show where to look for indications of hardware problems. The reader will learn how to decipher the hexadecimal error messages from dmesg and syslog. We explain how to use the lspci tool for troubleshooting. When the error is understood, the next goal is to resolve the device problem. We demonstrate techniques for determining what needs to be done to fix device issues including SAN devices.

Chapter 8: Linux Processes: Structure, Hangs, and Core Dumps
Process management is the heart of the Linux kernel. A system administrator should know what happens when a process is created to troubleshoot process issues. This chapter explains process creation and provides a foundation for troubleshooting. Linux is a multithreading kernel. The reader will learn how multithreading works and what heavyweight and lightweight processes are. This book is very through in presenting methods of system identification...mathematically. However as with most good mathematical oriented books there are not a lot of practical design type problems. One other mark aginst the book is that similar notation is used for different topics, which can sometimes be a bit confusing. One thing I might recommend, to a potential buyer is that you take a course in random process, and possess a through understanding of signals and transforms. All in all though if a little more meat in terms of practicality were added I'd rate this book a five.

At the core of this history is a trio of related evolutions�hypnosis, concepts of identity, and dissociation�beginning with nineteenth-century "hysterics" and culminating in the modern boom in Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) diagnoses and the parallel rise in childhood abuse/repressed memory cases. Rieber does not argue the non-existence of DID; rather he asserts that it is a rare disorder exaggerated by dissociation advocates and exploited by the media. In doing so, he takes on some of the most difficult questions in the field:
