Is it a good idea to turn off Windows update after install Vista loader 2.1.3?

Turn on Windows update until I have 1 day left to activate.
Then use Vista loader 2.1.3 to activate my Vista.
Then turn off Windows update to prevent Microsoft release an update which kills Vistaloader.
So I permanently activated Vista BUT without any update ?!?!?

What happen if I don't update Windows from then and wait til SP2 come out ?
