Okay guys, I am really confused here. I have an OEM copy of Vista Home Premium 32bit installed on the laptop. I want turn that into a 64bit Vista Home Premium.
I called Microsoft and they told me that I could order the 64bit disk, then said "unfortunately we do not support OEM software".
I have a retail copy of Vista Ultimate for my desktop. A friend told me that the 64bit disk should accept the product key of the OEM software and install it as Home Premium.
I asked Microsoft about that too, they said "You have been very misinformed".
So here is where I am at...Do I have to buy a new copy of Vista to install the 64bit? Can I buy a retail upgrade to do a clean install for the 64bit? Or since I have 32bit will it only upgrade as 32bit?
I don't feel as I should have to buy anything, all I want is my 32bit software to become 64bit, but I know this will not be easy.
Please help, all of your feedback, no matter what it is will be greatly appreciated.
