Once your photos are transferred from your camera, use WinZip’s Explorer view to see thumbnails of each photo. Encryption Security Features
Set password complexity preferences

The new password policy allows you to customize encryption password requirements to achieve a desired password complexity. Now you can optionally specify the minimum password length and also require a mixture of characters including upper and lower case, numerals, and symbols. For System Administrators, a password policy for your organization’s required password complexity can now be specified during MSI installation of WinZip.

Specify the types of encryption available

With WinZip Pro, System Administrators can also specify which of WinZip’s encryption methods are available to the user and can disable the encryption features completely during MSI installation. Decryption features will always be available.



Improved User Experience
Smart View logically displays the contents of a Zip file

Content sensitive Smart View makes it easier to see the contents of your Zip file. Simply open a Zip file and WinZip will choose a viewing method best suited for the contents of your Zip file.

If your Zip file contains photos or images, WinZip will display the files in Thumbnail View so you can quickly browse your images. If your Zip file contains folders, the Explorer-style tree view is used so you can easily navigate folders and see their contents. The familiar Classic view is used when there are no folders or images.

Now, with the addition of WinZip’s new Jpeg and LZMA compression methods to the existing PPMd, bzip2, Enhanced Deflate and WAVPack methods, WinZip offers improved compression performance for most file types. The enhanced Properties dialog now displays a report that shows graphically how much space you saved by compressing the files. It also provides you with other useful information such as the number of files in your archive, the percentage of compression, and whether your files are encrypted or not.

More intuitive and informative than ever

A new column gives you more information at a glance when using the Details View in either Classic or Explorer-style viewing mode. The Encryption column indicates whether a file is encrypted or not and once the correct passphrase has been entered, indicates that the encrypted files are unlocked and accessible.

The new “Save As” feature lets you quickly and easily save the current Zip file into a different folder or to a different name.

New folders can now be created in a Zip file from within WinZip and the files inside the Zip can be dragged and dropped within them, making it possible to easily change the Zip folder structure when needed.

The Rename feature lets you change the name of files stored inside your Zip file. This is especially helpful for giving more descriptive names to photos than the cryptic names your camera creates like “100_0185.jpg”.

The Job Wizard (WinZip Pro’s task-automation tool for zipping) is enhanced to make it easier to test jobs you create or edit. And the Job File format now supports Unicode to make administering shared job files easier in multi-language environments.

This little software does wonders! One time when I boot Server '08 up, and it slapped me with 'Activate Windows Now' right before entering the desktop. After several failed attempts to enter ProductKey (Vista RC2's #) I decided to let it count down instead of clicking 'Activate Online' box (useless when you have wireless on). Sure enough, the 'Activate Later' box became clickable and I GOT into the desktop! Immediately I used this tiny software to rearm Server '08 which worked beautifully, prolonging the time limit one again.

Props to the creator of this amazing software!

Fasten your seat belts — data transfer is going into overdrive.

The ubiquitous Universal Serial Bus, better known as USB, is on track to make its first major upgrade in eight years — a tenfold speed increase over the current USB 2.0 standard. That means we'll be able to rip music, video, photos from the vast array of peripherals we connect to our computers much more quickly, and it makes such up-and-coming devices as HD video cameras that much more practical.

USB 3.0 will also deliver greater power efficiency and the ability to recharge a wider variety of gadgets — and it will most likely mean the death of the competing standard known as FireWire.

To get a sense of the speed increase, consider this: Under USB 2.0 it takes about 10 minutes to transfer a high-def video from a Blu-ray disc. With USB 3.0, it will take just about a minute.

"What the user will see is really a much faster response time, less waiting, more productivity," says Patrick Moorhead, vice president of advanced marketing at AMD, one of the supporters of the USB 3.0 standard.

But none of this will happen tomorrow. The first USB 3.0 devices probably won't show up until the end of 2009 or early 2010, say analysts. Users can get a glimpse into future devices sporting SuperSpeed USB as early as the annual Consumer Electronics Show in January, and Wired.com will be there.

"The first places that you will see this show up is where you get the biggest benefits — HD video cameras and hard drives," says Moorhead.

The USB Implementers Forum, a nonprofit group founded by companies to promote the standard, will announce Monday the final set of specs that will clear the way for the adoption of USB 3.0 by device and component manufacturers.

"USB 3.0 will take USB 2.0 to the next level and take away performance as an issue for data transfer in many devices," says Brian O'Rourke, an analyst with research firm In-Stat. "USB 3.0 will make it even more pervasive across devices than it is today."

Since the USB specification was first introduced in 1996, it has changed the way we interact with our computers. USB has allowed everything from keyboards, mouse, PDAs, printers, digital cameras and personal media players — pretty much the entire spectrum of consumer electronics — to be connected to a host PC using a single standardized socket.

I assume that you are talking about Hotmail, it wasn't working on Saturday/Sunday due to them upgrading the software and no one could access their e-mail through the web page. It is working now.

many thanks mate for quick answer appreciated that let i tell you again my problem when i use another pc our laptop on my house or another place is fine working but my pc is not working even i tried now no working so i think the problem is on my pc i guess.

ie 8 and 7 wont work i want to install ie 6 but windows wont let me uninstall ie 7 or 8
