I tried Vista x64 almost 2 years ago.
In the end, I ripped it out and went back to XP pro.
I found nothing to recommend it over XP.
Plus, I couldn't find drivers for all of my hardware, and few programs could use the 64 bit capability.
Now, I seem to have most of the drivers I need and a few of my major programs can now use the 64 bit capability.
I think it's time to take another look at Vista x-64.
From what I've seen, it looks as if the OEM method is probably the preferred activation method, if it will work for me.
My PC is home-built with an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium mobo & an American Megatrends 1006.006 BIOS.
Yeah, it's getting a bit old.
I'm planning on building a new one some time after the first of the year.
That's probably the main reason I want to look at Vista again.
So, my question is:
Can the OEM activation work with my PC?
If not, what would be the best alternate activation method?
Thx for any input on this.
