yes that is true, but why do i need gigs of extra crap on my pc that does not have to be on there. cant microsoft make a version that doesnt have, sidebar, media centre, internet explorer, windows mail, movie maker, defender etc etc list keeps going.
why does microsoft think we have to have all this rubbish on a pc??
they make xbox - xbox 360 which is just the basics enough for it to turn on, work out what network, controller etc and play dvds / games, why cant they do this for a pc.
you dont see a xbox with sidebars, internet explorer and things on it.

We've speculated before that the final version of Internet Explorer 8 will arrive no later than April 2009, but Tech ARP claims it has found out that "Microsoft is ready to release Internet Explorer 8 to manufacturing (RTM) in the next few weeks." This is in line with what Microsoft has said: after the Release Candidate build is released to the public, the RTM will be the next one to go live.
Tech ARP also notes that Microsoft will be promoting the following features that IE8 offers over IE7:
Extensive improvements in the areas of performance and reliability.
Monetization opportunities (for OEMs).
Visual Search Suggestions, which offers the ability to configure a search provider and additional services into the IE8 search box to search for shopping, news/portal sites, social networks, sports, etc.
Web Slices and Accelerators, which are additional web services within the IE8 monetization ecosystem, built specifically for IE8 by content providers. These services will be used by OEMs to deliver brand exposure and content updates to the users.
Enhanced user experience, greater user privacy, and security enhancements.

Hi all iam running CS4, but each time I open photoshop its asking me for a new serial, iam using 'Adobe Photoshop CS4 KeyGen [RkChimaira]' each time to generate a key but its annoying having to enter a key each time. Has anyone got a permanent key that will work please?

If you start the game there is an error associated with d3dx9
You should reinstall DirectX, run the file DXSETUP.exe, folder Install
If you start the game there is an error: "Serial number XXXX was not found in library DLL Xlive.dll"
It is necessary to reinstall the GFW Live, gfwlivesetup.exe file in the folder Install
If you put the files in another location, not on drive C, for example D: Games
you'll need to edit the file rev.ini - replace SteamClientDll address in a file on this, as will you, for example, a C: DoW2_Unpack STEAM steamclient.dll, as was the D: Games DoW2_Unpack STEAM steamclient.dll
By the way, not all run through the game launcher - when you start launchera off with an error, try to run with ekzeshnika

You should reinstall DirectX, run the file DXSETUP.exe, folder Install

sorted it, so for reference anybody having trouble with their firewire soundcard. Try intalling the legacy driver for the firewire card (their are 3 options in device manager update). I know of someone else with a motu fw soundcard found the same solution.

As was widely rumored, leaked, and predicted, Microsoft made a series of announcements regarding its Windows Mobile platform at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2009 in Barcelona on Monday. CEO Steve Ballmer proclaimed that smartphones would soon comprise 50 percent of worldwide mobile phones and that Windows would be the platform that would continue to be adopted not only on the PC but on mobile devices as well. As part of the various announcements relating to devices, software, and services, Ballmer unveiled Windows Mobile 6.5, Microsoft My Phone, and Windows Marketplace for Mobile. To simplify things, the new Windows Mobile phones would start to be marketed as "Windows phones" in the fall, which is when the new devices from Microsoft partners will begin to ship.
"Windows phones bring together the best of the Web, the PC, and the phone so you can connect instantly to the experiences you care about, no matter where you are," Ballmer said. "We're working with partners across the industry to deliver a new generation of Windows phones that break down the barriers between people, information, and applications and provide great end-to-end experiences that span your entire life, at work and at home."

hey all, im using the xp student edition on a few of my machines, but for some odd reason 1 machine wnt validate, it has the message Geographically Blocked PID in the genuine advantage validation tool. any idea why its saying that? the regional settings are set the same as the other machines, (UK) ??
