I couldn't understand why you were having so much trouble - so I downloaded the keygen from the link you used.

It contains no separate host file patcher - so that explains a lot!

The patcher is part of the keygen - top left where it says "Patch Hosts File" - perhaps the music put you off!

But manually patching should have worked - I think that all you have done wrong is to leave the # at the start of the line you added to the hosts file
