Lady Windermere's Fan By Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde's first play confronts the hypocrisy of public 'morality'
compared with genuine, private kindness.
When it opened in 1892, Lady Windermere's Fan was an instant success and now, a century later, it continues to be revived frequently.
The reasons for its popularity are not difficult to identify: the play's witty dialogue contains many of Wilde's most quoted aphorisms, its stylish setting provides opportunities for elegant presentation, and its cast of memorable characters play out a story which is genuinely moving.

Mono 44.1 kHz VBR 77.8MB
This pair of audio plays, adapted by the author from his story collection Smoke & Mirrors, serves as a wonderful introduction to Gaiman's weird fictional world.
"Snow Glass Apples," a diabolical take on "Snow White," introduces vampirism and necrophilia into the tale and features a wicked stepmother who's more victim than evildoer. Narrator Bebe Neuwirth, of Cheers fame, has superb timing.
Equally well produced is "Murder Mysteries", a noirish tale in which Brian Dennehy takes the role of an avenging angel investigating a murder. The play is cleverly scored with sinister music. (Book Magazine)

Incident At Vichy By Arthur Miller
Performed by L. A. Theatre Works (2002)
Duration...1:11:24
Tracks...4
Audio...Stereo 44.1kHz 126-142kbps
Arthur Miller's one act play about a group of men awaiting 'inspection' by German officers inside the Vichy regime is a study of the choices an individual can make against historical forces playing themselves out around him.
Written in 1964, Miller's script recalls a historical period still within the playwright's recent memory, but which simultaneously provides insight into the witch-hunt under McCarthyism in America. In both worlds, the individual is faced with the decision about how to act; either passively to conform in the hope of survival, or to struggle against authority with risk of danger.

Beckett In 90 Minutes By Paul Strathern (Audiobook)
Read by Robert Whitfield
Samuel Barclay Beckett (13 April 1906 – 22 December 1989) was an Irish writer, dramatist and poet. Beckett's work offers a bleak outlook on human culture and both formally and philosophically became increasingly minimalist.
As a student, assistant, and friend of James Joyce, Beckett is considered by many one of the last modernists; as an inspiration to many later writers, he is sometimes considered one of the first postmodernists. He is also considered one of the key writers in what Martin Esslin called "Theatre of the Absurd."
Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969.

When legendary Washington Post reporter Mary Keegan is found murdered, homicide detectives Frank Kearney and Jose Phelps pull up the file on another open case. There as here, the victim was a female who had been hacked to death in a public park. And there is one other link: each was missing a little finger, a grisly souvenir - perhaps the calling card of a serial killer. When, a week later, a third woman is found in similar circumstances, they're sure of it.
Kearney and Phelps are certain the killer will strike again and know they're working against time. Using the best evidence modern forensics and computer science can supply and the good guesswork twenty-five years of homicide investigations have sharpened, they begin to see some patterns, but not enough to connect up the dots. Then the finger of one of the victims is found sealed inside a plastic baggie in a raided crack house. Cutting corners, pulling in favors, they track the evidence back to what they believe will be the killer, only to find he is one step ahead of them. In a climactic nightmare chase, Kearney races to save the person dearest to him as he faces off against a cunning homicidal maniac.
