The Arabic word Islam literally means surrender or submission. Islam, as a faith, means total and sincere surrender to God so that one can live in peace and tranquility. Peace (Salam in Arabic, Shalom in Hebrew) is achieved through active obedience to the revealed commandments of God, for God is The Just, The Peace. The name Islam is universal in meaning. Islam is not named after a tribe of people or an individual, as Judaism is named after the tribe of Judah, Christianity after Christ and Buddhism after Buddha. Islam is not a name chosen by human beings; it was divinely communicated from God. Islam is a global faith, not of the East or the West. Islam is a complete way of life, implying total submission to God. One who surrenders his or her will to God, voluntarily, is called a Muslim. It was not Muhammad (SAW) but Adam (S.A) who first brought Islam to humanity. Then, each Prophet and Messenger came to exhort the people to a clear understanding of Gods commandments. They offered teachings relevant to that time, until God chose the final Prophet, Muhammad (SAW), to come with the Last Testament referred to as the Qur'an. Allah is an Arabic word, meaning The One and Only True Deity, the proper name of The One who created the heavens and the earth. Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians also call God by the name Allah. For a Muslim, Allah is the greatest and most inclusive of names for God, denoting The One who is adored in worship, The One who created all that exists.
Preface:
The purpose of this work is to present the authentic teachings of Islam. We do not present any specific version or a unique interpretation of Islam. We present Islam as it is, without sugarcoating, and we allow it to stand on its own merits. There is only one Islam and only one example of how it is to be lived -that of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Our intention is to provide a basic overview of the main tenets of Islam as given in the Qur'an and as exemplified by the Prophet (SAW). We also intend to address some of the commonly asked questions about Islam.
Despite the fact that over one-fifth of the worlds population is Muslim, Islam is often misunderstood and misrepresented in contemporary Western societies. It is hoped that this work will help shed light on Islam as it was divinely communicated to Muhammad (SAW) and dispel any commonly held misconceptions that perpetuate prejudice and hatred. We write this booklet in the hope that people of all faiths will join us in making this a world of tolerance, kindness, understanding, and peace.
The symbol (SAW) means Peace and Blessings be upon him (or them). It is an Islamic tradition to offer blessings of peace to all the Prophets and Messengers of God. To respect Gods representatives is to respect God.

And Muhammad Is The Messenger of Allah: An examination of the finality of prophethood.
INTRODUCTION:
Indeed, All Praise belongs to Allah. We praise Allah, we seek his assistance and we beg for his forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own selves and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, no one can mislead and whomsoever Allah allows to go astray, none can guide. I bare witness and give open testimony that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, who has no associates and I bare witness that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger. To proceed:
Allah (SWT) says;
Say: "If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Noble Quran 3:31)
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, explains in the Quran that any profession of love for Him can only be substantiated by following the last Messenger whom He has sent to humanity. The proof of ones love for Allah is in the belief and the acceptance of Muhammad ibn Abdillah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as the last messenger of Allah and in following him in matters of faith, worship, and methodology. Within this framework is the belief which everyone who professes to be a Muslim should adhere to and that is the concept of the finality of revelation, Prophethood, and Messengership. This entails that the religion of Islam was completed and perfected 1400 years ago with the commissioning of Muhammad ibn Abdillah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as a Prophet by Allah and that with his departure to the mercy of Allah, the conclusion of all divine revelation. It is sad to note, however, that despite the clarity of this matter as addressed by Allah, Glorified is He, in His Noble Quran and the clarity with which the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) spoke about this concept, many people throughout the years since the final revelation have claimed some form of special commission from Allah. There have been those from past generations as well as those of recent times up until today who twist the concepts of nubuwwah (Prophethood) and rasaalah (Messengership) to include themselves as recipients of some form of wahy (revelation). It is equally as sad to acknowledge that some of these charlatans have influenced a number of people who identify themselves as Muslims to allow themselves to be consumed by this false and dangerous notion. Some claimants are more obviously false than others. Some, however, are so subtle in their dispensation of these ideas that even those Muslims who consciously adhere to the belief of the finality of Prophethood may find themselves dangerously close to kufr by following one who implies that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not complete his mission, hence, the need for Islam to be modified by additions and subtractions.

From Publishers Weekly
In this outrageous parody of a survival guide, Saturday Night Live staff writer Brooks prepares humanity for its eventual battle with zombies. One would expect the son of Mel Brooks to have a genetic predisposition to humor, and indeed, he does, and he exhibits it relentlessly here: he outlines virtually every possible zombie-human encounter, drafts detailed plans for defense and attack and outlines past recorded attacks dating from 60,000 B.C. to 2002. In planning for that catastrophic day when "the dead rise," Brooks urges readers to get to know themselves, their bodies, their weaponry, their surroundings and, just in case, their escape routes. Some of the book's more amusing aspects are the laughable analyses Brooks proposes on all aspects of zombiehood, and the specificity with which he enumerates the necessary actions for survival-i.e., a member of an anti-zombie team must be sure to have with him at all times two emergency flares, a signaling mirror, daily rations, a personal mess kit and two pairs of socks. Comic, though unnecessarily exhaustive, this is a good bet for Halloween gag gifts and fans of Bored of the Rings-esque humor. 100 line drawings.

Remember a chubby reporter in a blue shirt and his white dog setting out to save the world again and again? Yes, you guessed it right I'm talking about the one and only, the world famous fictional repoter, Tintin and his dog Snowy. Even after 75 years after its debut Tintin continues to be loved by one and all. His adventures even after 75 years of publication are still read by people of all ages.
The adventures of Tintin was written my Hergé, which was the pen name of Belgian Georges Remi who wrote and illustrated the book himself. It debuted in 1929 and the first book was
Tintin in the land of soviets which featured for the first time only Tintin and Snowy. then in the later books hot headed
Captain Haddock and other colorful characters like
Prof. Calculus were introduced.
Tintin is a young reporter who, along with is dog Snowy, is always drawn to dangerous international intrigues in which his quick thinking and bravery save the day. Almost every adventure features Tintin engaging in some kind of sleuthing or investigation, but rarely does he actually turn in a story.Although the strip was Belgian, Hergé was inconsistent or vague about assigning Tintin a nationality, depicting him instead as broadly European. In some of the earliest books, like Tintin in the Congo,a Belgian identity is fairly explicit. In later adventures, as with other aspects of his character's history and family, Tintin's nationality is simply never brought up.
Though Tintin's adventures are formulaicpresenting a mystery which is then solved logicallyHergé infused the strip with his own sense of humour, and created supporting characters who, whilst being predictable, were filled with charm that allowed the reader to engage with them.Hergé also had a great understanding of the mechanics of the comic strip, especially pacing, a skill displayed in The Castafiore Emerald, a work he meant to be packed with tension in which nothing actually happens.
The books are colorfully illustrated. though the books were written long back they are so couloufully illustrated that you will feel that the events are taking place in the current world. Such was the research of the author. The books are truly hilarious and made more exciting by adding the mystery element to it.
If you want to read some of your favorite Tintin books as an e-book just follow the links given below and select which book you want to read. The name of the book is given on top of the link.

Content is divided into two parts. Part one, "Definitions of Genocide and the Study of Genocide," contains several fairly long essays on important concepts such as democide and the use of the word holocaust. In part two, "Genocidal Events, Intervention, and Prevention," entries are in alphabetical order, from Adana massacre (one of a series of large-scale massacres of Armenians in the early twentieth century) to Yugoslavia, genocide in. A number of the entries are biographical, for individuals ranging from Genghis Khan to Elie Wiesel. Many entries include sidebars that present supplemental and background information and verbatim texts of genocide-related documents. Each entry concludes with a short bibliography.

Vocabulary Basics for Business is intended for adults who wish to improve their English vocabulary. The most common reason for needing to increase or broaden vocabulary is lack of experience with reading. Not surprisingly, thoughtful reading is key to developing a broader vocabulary. Read as much as you possibly can read- anything that interests you, whether magazine or novel, textbook or junk mail, a newspaper or a cereal box, e-mail or Web pages-read.

The Adventures of Asterix (French: Astérix or Astérix le Gaulois) is a series of French comic books by René Goscinny (stories) and Albert
Uderzo (illustrations). Uderzo has continued the series since the death of Goscinny in 1977. The series follows the exploits of a village
of ancient Gauls as they resist Roman occupation. They do so by means of a magic potion, brewed by their druid, which gives the recipient
superhuman strength. This is often used for comic effect, as in a recurring sequence where the villagers sally forth from their village to
rout the attacking Romans so easily as to consider it great sport. In many cases, this resistance leads the main characters to travel to
various European countries (but also Egypt, America, India and other non-European locations) in every other book, while the remaining are
set in and around their village.

Mac users have always been a loyal group, and for good reasons. Since Apple first started producing Macintosh computers in the 1980s, theyve placed an emphasis on quality, ease-of-use, and stability. Modern Macs running the latest OS X operating system are among the most powerful and dependable personal computers you can buy, and theyre versatile enough to meet virtually any personal or professional need you may have.
Macs are user friendly, but theyre still computers, so you must follow certain steps to complete tasks, like setting up an e-mail account, accessing a Wi-Fi hotspot, transferring music to an iPod, customizing the OS X interface, creating a network, and almost any other computer task you can imagine. This book provides the steps you need to get running quickly, without having to pour through extra narratives or examples that you probably dont need anyway. And because a picture is worth a thousand words, all the steps in this book are accompanied by figures that walk you visually through each task.If you like my post download link as a FREE USER THANKS :worship::smile-big:

From whiskey, rum, and brandy to vodka, gin, and cordials, this handy reference traces the history of distilled spirits, explains how they are made, and shows you how to evaluate, serve, and savor them.

This friendly book tells you as it reveals where the first whiskeys — or “dark” spirits — originated and how they came to the United States. It also explores the origins of clear spirits and the different varieties of each. You’ll compare American and European vodkas, see how to make the new and improved all-purpose Martini, and follow the spread of flavored rums across the globe. A slew of sidebars give you fascinating tidbits of information about these spirits. You’ll also discover how to:
Become a sophisticated taster
Shop for the best spirits
Select the right mixers
Use spirits in cooking
Make ten classic cocktails
Choose and taste cordials and liqueurs
Know the nutrients in one serving of each type of distilled spirit
Present spirits to guests
Set up tasting events at home
This thorough guide also features recipes for cooking with spirits, offering menu choices such as entrees, vegetables, and desserts that all include at least one type of spirit. Complete with an appendix of craft distillers across the United States, Whiskey & Spirits For Dummies will give you the knowledge and hands-on guidance you need to become a connoisseur of such greats as fine Scotch, Bourbon, and Cognac in no time!

Gary Althen's richly detailed guide shines a psychological, cultural and sociological spotlight on American customs, values, attitudes and behavior. Organized into 22 chapters that cover just about every aspect of American life, the book hits you with its uncanny insight, accuracy and honesty. Although he doesn't completely avoid stereotyping (and doesn't seem at all bothered by it), Althen presents the good, the bad and the quirky. He explains the "why" behind American attitudes and manners. Even though this is a guide for foreigners visiting, doing business in or living in the United States, we from getAbstract also suggest this book to Americans. It's an eye-opener about the national personality, or the perceived national personality, from naïvete to individualism. As Scotsman Robert Burns wrote, "Oh wad some power the giftie gie us, to see oursels as others see us." Well, here's your chance. Poker is Americas national card game, and its popularity continues to grow. Nationwide, you can find a game in progress everywhere. If you want to play, you can find poker games on replicas of 19th century riverboats or on Native American tribal lands. You can play poker at home with the family or online with opponents from around the world. Like bowling and billiards before it, poker has moved out from under the seedier side of its roots and is flowering in the sunshine.
Maybe youve never played poker before and you dont even know what a full house is. Poker For Dummies covers the basics. Or perhaps you've played for years, but you just dont know how to win. This handy guide will help you walk away from the poker table with winnings, not lint, in your pockets. If youre a poker expert, you still can benefit some of the suggestions may surprise you, and you can certainly learn from the anecdotes from professional players like T.J. Cloutier and Stu Unger.
Know what it takes to start winning hand after hand by exploring strategy; getting to know antes and betting structure; knowing your opponents, and understanding the odds. Poker For Dummies also covers the following topics and more:
Poker games such as Seven-Card Stud, Omaha, and Texas Hold'em
Setting up a game at home
Playing in a casino: Do's and don'ts
Improving your play with Internet and video poker
Deciphering poker sayings and slang
Ten ways to read your opponent's body language
Playing in poker tournaments
Money management and recordkeeping
Knowing when and how to bluff
Poker looks like such a simple game. Anyone, it seems, can play it well but that's far from the truth. Learning the rules can be quick work, but becoming a winning player takes considerably longer. Still, anyone willing to make the effort can become a good player. You can succeed in poker the way you succeed in life: by facing it squarely, getting up earlier than the next person, and working harder and smarter than the competition.
Foreword by Chris Moneymaker, 2003 World Series of Poker Champion.

What an amazing world we live in! Almost anything you can imagine can be researched, compared, admired, studied, and in many cases, bought, with the click of a mouse. The Internet has changed our lives, putting a world of opportunity before us. Unfortunately, it has also put a world of opportunity into the hands of those whose motives are less than honorable. A firewall, a piece of software or hardware that erects a barrier between your computer and those who might like to invade it, is one solution. If youve been using the internet for any length of time, youve probably received some unsavory and unsolicited e-mail. If you run a business, you may be worried about the security of your data and your customers privacy. At home, you want to protect your personal information from identity thieves and other shady characters. Flex 3 is the next generation of a technology that revolutionized web applications. It is the next evolutionary step of Flash, which has grown from a web animation medium to a powerful enterprise web design and development platform. With nearly 98% of all web browsers, and a growing number of mobile devices, running Flash Player, a knowledge of Flex is indispensible for any serious web developer.
This book will show you how to create powerful Rich Internet Applications using Flex 3. After learning how to install and becoming familiar with the basics of the Flex Builder 3 software, you will explore in depth how the Flash scripting language, ActionScript 3.0, interacts with Flexs powerful XML-like design language: MXML.
Youll learn how to construct your applications using layout and navigation containers, and how to move between various states using transitions. There is coverage of how best to plan your applications and use the Model-View-Controller pattern to keep various aspects of development separated and ease creation of potentially complicated projects.
Rich Internet Applications rely on data, and this book shows how to bring data from various sources into your Flex application and check its integrity, and how best to display and interact with it.
Going farther, applications built for the Flash platform can now exist and function beyond the traditional confines of the web browser. Adobe AIR allows you to take your applications to the desktop, and this book shows how to reapply your Flex skills to take advantage of this new environment.
The Essential Guide to Flex 3 takes you through all the powerful features of Flex using a series of stand-alone, practical exercises. The skills acquired throughout the book are then brought together in the form of a full-featured case study application showcasing essential techniques that can easily be applied to your own Flex applications.
In this book youll
* Learn how to create powerful applications using Adobe Flex 3
* Use Flex Builder to design layouts using Flex MXML containers, and see how to combine MXML and ActionScript 3.0
* Work your way through a full-featured case study, building a complete Flex application

The Audacity of Hope
The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream is the second book written by US Senator Barack Obama.[1] It was the number three bestseller on The New York Times nonfiction list as of October 2006.[2] The book represents Obama's personal manifesto for his 2008 campaign for the Presidency. The book advance from the publisher of $1.9 million contracted for three booksINFO:
With his second book The Audacity of Hope, Obama engages themes raised in his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, shares personal views on faith and values and offers a vision of the future that involves repairing a political process that is broken and restoring a government that has fallen out of touch with the people. [edit] Origin
The title of The Audacity of Hope was derived from a sermon delivered by Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. While a Senate candidate, Obama delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention, entitled The Audacity of Hope that propelled him to national prominence. In the less than 20 minutes it took to deliver the speech, Obama was catapulted to sudden fame, with many analysts predicting that he might be well-positioned to enter a future presidential race. In 2006, Obama released The Audacity of Hope, a book-length account that expanded upon many of the same themes he originally addressed in the convention speech.
In his speech addressing the Democratic National Convention in 2004, Obama said:
In the end, that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or a politics of hope? John Kerry calls on us to hope. John Edwards calls on us to hope. I'm not talking about blind optimism here -- the almost willful ignorance that thinks unemployment will go away if we just don't talk about it, or the health care crisis will solve itself if we just ignore it. No, I'm talking about something more substantial. It's the hope of slaves sitting around a fire singing freedom songs; the hope of immigrants setting out for distant shores; the hope of a young naval lieutenant bravely patrolling the Mekong Delta; the hope of a millworker's son who dares to defy the odds; the hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him, too. Hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The audacity of hope![4]
