Most of the material in this book is intended to be an extension of existing technical resources. If you're expecting a ground-up introduction to Visual Basic .NET, you'll be disappointed. I have an expectation that you have a basic familiarity with the language and platform. If you do not, there are plenty of excellent books from MS Press on the subject of Visual Basic .NET and I'd recommend starting there.
