TagsData Structures and Algorithms Using   [edit]

Author(s) : Michael McMillan
Publisher : Cambridge
Year : Mar 2005
ISBN 10 : 0521547652
ISBN 13 : 9780521547659
Language : English
Pages : 412
File type : PDF
Size : 1.2 MB

This is the first Visual Basic.NET (VB.NET) book to provide a comprehensive discussion of the major data structures and algorithms. Here, instead of having to translate material on C++ or Java, the professional or student VB.NET programmer will and a tutorial on how to use data structures and algorithms and a reference for implementation using VB.NET for data structures and algorithms from the .NET Framework Class Library as well as those that must be developed by the programmer.

This book is written primarily as a practical overview of the data structures and algorithms all serious computer programmers need to know and understand. Given this, there is no formal analysis of the data structures and algorithms covered in the book. Hence, there is not a single mathematical formula and not one mention of Big O analysis (for the latter the reader is referred to any of the books listed in the bibliography). Instead, the various data structures and algorithms are presented as problem-solving tools. We use simple timing tests to compare the performance of the data structures and algorithms discussed in the book.

This book can be used in both beginning and advanced computer programming courses that use the VB.NET language and, most importantly, by the professional Visual Basic programmer.

The TCP/IP Guide: A Comprehensive, Illustrated Internet Protocols Reference
No Starch Press / May 2005 | 1616 pages | ISBN: 159327047X | PDF | 28Mb

A comprehensive guide to TCP/IP that details the core protocols that make TCP/IP internetworks function, defines networking and the OSI model architecture, and covers the dozens of proctocols and technologies that run the Internet.

The book is superbly written. The author introduces all the major aspects of TCP/IP and for anyone who wants to understand how networking really works, the book provides a great way to learn. The style helps the learning process: as I was trying to synthesize the knowledge being dished out, questions would spring to mind and these would generally be answered within a few sentences by Kozierok.

Compiled by Red Hat Software, Inc., the company that has assembled the most popular x86 installation of Linux, this command reference is massive, authoritative, and as complete as any reference can be.

In 1,500 pages of tiny print, this heavy-duty tome documents every command, utility, file system, library function, and administration tool in the operating system. Linux also features a detailed kernel reference guide and a good index. And if the print size bothers you, the entire contents of the book are included on the companion CD-ROM, along with the Unix version of the Adobe Acrobat reader. In Acrobat, you can adjust the font size to something more readable. If you're running a Linux system and acting as your own system administrator, Linux: Complete Command Reference is an indispensable reference.
