This is the DVD minus the trial software which gives you the e-book in .pdf format and all the drawing files for all the exercises. There are before and after drawings so that you may check and verify that everything you did was correct. The net result is an ISO of about 137MB

Effective C++ CD is the HTML (Netscape-oriented) version of Scott Meyers' previous two works, Effective C++, Second Edition and More Effective C++. Additionally, five supplementary magazine articles appear in the collection. There are also links to relevant material on the Web which that been added to the current edition and which did not appear in the print edition.
Scott Meyers' work is so well known as scarcely to need introduction. Respect for his C++ acumen and pedagogic skills is so widespread that I was prepared to thoroughly detest his work, which I have encountered often but barely deigned to read to date.
On close examination, I find Meyers' books to be superb.
Of the 50 catechismic "Items" in the body of Effective C++, the vast majority are of critical importance to solid C++ programming. Virtually everything Scott Meyers suggests on these subjects is germane and practical. Where one could conceivably differ with Meyers' approach, his is nevertheless an entirely sound approach.
The second volume, More Effective C++, is cast in the same mold as the first volume. Here the discussion of 35 further "Items" tends to devolve somewhat towards matters of style. However, these are still critical issues being raised that the intermediate C++ programmer must confront sooner or later, athey are shipped too early. They fail because they arenthey are shipped too early. They fail because they arens presented in Meyers' rich and sympathetic tutorial prose. –Jack Woehr, Dr. Dobb's Journal –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

The language of English cuisine is unusual in that it uses many words of foreign origin, often in their original spelling.
The purpose of this dictionary is to give short definitions of these words so that both the practising chef and the amateur enthusiast, the gastronome and thes tudent may quickly determine the meaning.
It is not a recipe book or a repertoire, but it does give the ingredients of classic and well-known dishes, together with a brief summary of the cooking processes.
A picture of a chef’s hat indicates dishes that the professional or amateur cook could, after a little experimentation, roughly reproduce.
As in all dictionaries, the compiler has had to be selective in the words chosen for inclusion.
Even so, the dictionary lists over 24,000 words, of which very few are not in current use somewhere in the English-speaking world.
Some entries have been included for historicalreasons and the browser will find much of interest.
Classic dishes, ingredients, cooking processes, cooking implements and equipment, descriptions of function and details of service are included as well as scientific, botanical, medical, technological, hygienic and
nutritional terms.
Many single words appertaining to the catering industry from the countries of the European Union are translated, and the dictionary is of use in translating menu items not included.
Drinks, wines and spirits are not included except where they are used as flavourings in food and food preparation.
Recipes
In some of the entries, outline recipes are given together with quantities of key ingredients.
The usual method of giving quantities is to give the relative proportions by weight in brackets
after the list of ingredients.
Thus for example is defined as ‘Flour, butter, caster sugar and eggs (2:1:3:5) made up…’
This could be 4 oz of flour, 2 oz of butter, 6 oz of caster sugar and 5 eggs (recalling that a standard egg weighs 2 oz or 60g), or alternatively in metric measure, 24g of flour, 12g of butter and 36g of caster sugar to each egg.
All cooking temperatures are given in °C (degrees centigrade or Celsius).
Equivalents in other
units (°F or gas mark) can be found in any reasonable recipe book.

Liquid chromatography (LC) is a separation method of great importance to the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry. The principle is that a sample of a solution of the substances is injected into a column of an porous material (stationary phase) and a liquid (mobile phase) is pumped through the column. Since the rise of the world wide web and online ordering the magazine has shrunk a great deal, although it still features reviews of over 300 products per issue. The magazine was founded by Patch Communications in Titusville, FL in 1981. In 1982, Stan Veit was hired as Editor-In-Chief and the format of the magazine was changed. The Editorial was expanded to 25% of the content and the total circulation increased to over 200,000 copies per issue. In 1988 the magazine was purchased by Ziff Davis and moved to New York City.
