The book starts out with basic computer theory and underlying technologies, then moves on to cover everything from networking to the nitty-gritty steps and diagrams for upgrading and troubleshooting six sample computer models.
This book introduces the procedures for supporting and servicing Apple computers.
The materials in this book are equally helpful in classroom and self-paced situations, and point to further resources that are available only to those enrolled in Apple-authorized service training programs.

Author(s) : Frederick Noad
Publisher : Alpha Books
Year : Aug 2001

ISBN 13: 9780028642444
Language : English
Pages : 288
File type : PDF
Size: 6.2 MB
From this book, you will learn how to play melodies, chords, chordal accompaniments for songs, folk picks, 12-bar blues, rockabilly licks, flamenco, and some of the most beautiful pieces in the classical repertoire. Although this is an introductory book, Mr. Noad does much more than scratch the surface of each aspect he covers. He gives you a solid foundation from which you can choose the styles of guitar playing that you most enjoy.
This book teaches you how to read music and tablature, concentrating on the fingerstyle (as opposed to pick) guitar. Later you may decide that the electric guitar is your preference, and that you would like to play lead or backup with a group. This is obviously a different field, but what you have learned here about rhythm, harmony, and notation will speed your progress; in fact a basic knowledge of the original instrument is a great advantage.
It is best to proceed sequentially through the text. Each chapter builds on the one that came before. Some people may wish to race ahead to the more difficult pieces, but even if you have some guitar-playing experience already, it’s best to review and make sure that you’re doing everything right. Remember that bad habits, once learned, are very hard to undo!
TABLE OF CONTENT:

Part 2 - Getting Started
Part 3 - Tunes and Tablature

By Otto G. Piringer, A. L. Baner "Plastic Packaging Materials for Food : Barrier Function, Mass Transport, Quality Assurance, Legislation " Publisher:Wiley-VCH | Pages:576 | 2000-05-15 | ISBN: 3527288686 | PDf | 27 MB
Book Description: Plastics have developed into the most important class of packaging materials. Their relative impermeability for substances from the surroundings has great influence on the shelf life and the quality of the packed goods. At the same time the interaction between the contents and the various components of the packaging plays a decisive role. This particular book is indispensable in the search for the optimal plastic packaging. It facilitates the estimation of the influence on the goods which come from the surroundings and from the packaging. The authors do not restrict themselves only to the description of the phenomena of diffusion or transport in theory, but they show what they mean for practical applications. Food represents the central theme as main area of application for plastic packaging. It can be considered to be the "model substance" and the findings are to be applied to many other products and systems. The main rules and regulations for food packaging of the European Community and the United States are presented in this book. Furthermore the authors emphasize the testing methods for proving the mass transport and the sensory check of the quality of the products.

Extreme Programming for Web Projects (The XP Series)
Addison-Wesley Professional | ISBN: 0201794276 | 192 pages | September 29, 2002 | CHM | 1 Mb
Web development teams have been operating in the dark for far too long. The lack of proven development methodologies for the Web environment has resulted in a constant struggle for developers to produce quality Web-based projects on time and within budget. The field is multidisciplinary in character, involving both technology and graphic design: Web-based project development must address the issue of company image, must function on multiple platforms, and must incorporate multiple media into one complete package.
Extreme Programming for Web Projects shows how the Extreme Programming (XP) software development discipline can be adapted and applied to the Web-based project development process. This book demonstrates how the hallmarks of XP--continuous integration, short iterations, paired programming, automated testing, and extensive client involvement--are particularly well suited to the unique demands of Web-based development. Based on years of real-world experience, the book offers proven best practices that enable developers to deal efficiently and effectively with the challenges they face and, ultimately, to produce Web-based projects that meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
Readers will find information on vital topics such as:
How the XP team approach enhances communication between Web technology and graphic design professionals
How XP automated testing ensures a comprehensive approach to testing page layout, performance, and multiplatform operation
How XP's continuous integration and short iterations serve the Web development team's need for flexibility
How XP's emphasis on client involvement throughout the project improves oftentimes adversarial client relationships
How XP can facilitate the difficult task of estimating the time and cost of project completion
How XP functionality "stories" can be adapted for Web-based presentation stories
How XML, XSLT, and Cascading Style Sheets can help sites remain flexible and maintainable
How to use these guidelines for outstanding Web site design and coding techniques
As the Web industry continues to mature, there is a great need for methodologies that will ensure project quality as well as efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The fast-paced and flexible Extreme Programming methodology offers an excellent starting point for Web developers to improve their working processes and employ best practices.
